What is the Benefit of Philosophy?

The benefit or necessity of philosophy should be said in relation to its socio-cultural function and the historical development of philosophy.

When the Mongolfier brothers wanted to make their first flight with the balloons they had invented, one of the audience gathered in the square to watch the show, and with a tonton attitude, an old, respectable woman, asked a bit of pure attitude and asked the question:  “Well, what does it do, sir?”  The old gentleman – Benjamin Franklin, the famous American scholar and politician who was visiting France at the time – smiled equally equally, answering:  “What good is a newborn baby, sir?”

In our opinion, this answer is the most beautiful and meaningful answer to the question of what philosophy and, in fact, other basic cultural activities in general, are used in the final analysis. When we look at the issue in terms of usefulness, we can see that some of our activities, which are thought to be most useful, are not useful. For example, even science is often useless.
