“No matter how much you know, what you say is as much as others can understand.”

Mevlana

Language is the most useful, advanced and most important tool through which people express themselves and communicate with each other. In other words, language is a means of communication, narration and understanding. Without communication and agreement, people cannot come together to form a society.

Philosophy is a set of propositions. Since this set of propositions is expressed in language, there is a close relationship between philosophy and language. People form a bond through language. The most important feature of being human is to use “language”. Any mental activity is revealed by language, that is, our mental life is built on language.

Man is also distinguished from other beings by being “intelligent-thinking”. There is an intense relationship between thinking and language. The power of abstract thinking provided by language is the most important factor in conceptualizing the reality outside of oneself and establishing a relationship with the environment. Our perception of reality is also possible thanks to language. Without language, people could not produce products such as knowledge, technique, art, philosophy. The discipline of philosophy of language has emerged due to the intense relationship between language and philosophy.

Philosophy is a set of propositions. Since these propositions are expressed by language, which is a system of symbols, there is a close relationship between philosophy and language. Our mental life is built on “language”. Man differs from other beings in that he is “intelligent-thinking”. There is a close relationship between thinking and language. The connection of words with thinking, the mental aspect of language has been of interest to thinkers and linguists. Because if thinking is an event that occurs as a result of the effects of beings on the mind, the words that come out of the mouth are symbols that replace the beings, and signs that reflect the process in the mind.

The power of abstract thinking provided by language is the most important factor in conceptualizing the reality outside of oneself and establishing a relationship with the environment. Our perception of reality is possible thanks to language.

Language is the most important means of human communication. Without language, man would not be able to achieve superior achievements such as knowledge, technique, art, philosophy. While dwelling on the qualities of language, Leibniz points out that language can be the best mirror of the human mind, and that a thorough analysis of word meanings can show better than anything else how the mind works. According to Leibniz, the language and words of a nation are clear and understandable, enabling the members of that nation to think superiorly and originally.
