What is Conciliation?July 2, 2021
Conventionalism is the general name of the teachings that try to reconcile and bring together contradictory thoughts and teachings. It is also expressed with the idioms of associativeism and compatibilism. Conventionalism should not be confused with eclecticism. “Selectivism abhors any kind of anti-nature drugging, leaving anything resembling conventionalism to one side.” Conventionalism generally developed in the way of reconciling Aristotle with Plato.
In the Dictionary of Sociological Terms published by the Turkish Language Association, Prof. Dr. Özer Ozankaya defines conciliationism, which he expresses with the phrase synergy, as follows: “The bringing together of conflicting or at least separate social segments, principles, cultures, etc. (synthesized N.)
In the Dictionary of Educational Terms, Dr. Ferhan Oğuzkan defined conciliationism, which he expressed with the phrase “combinationism”, as follows: “The doctrine that tries to reconcile and combine some dissimilar views on philosophy and religion, or thoughts that are in conflict with each other.”
