Philosophy of education can be defined as a philosophical discipline that offers an educational method in the context of questioning, analyzing and interpreting thoughts and feelings about education. Education should not be approached specifically to education models. Because education is not just about acquiring knowledge, learning something and changing behavior unilaterally.
Education also examines the socio-cultural environmental effects and socioeconomic conditions of the individual. The philosophy of education is the one that questions the existence of the individual in his own society and makes the appropriate diagnosis thanks to the findings he has obtained. Education; It is a life-long path, a process. And it is a discipline that occupies and intervenes in a significant part of our lives, enabling us to harmonize with other people. In this process, people gain knowledge, skills, attitudes or values and behaviors. In this respect, education and its interaction with the environment are inevitable. Because, thanks to this interaction, there is a visible change in behavior, feelings and thoughts, in life. Therefore, we can define education as the process of living and learning, changing behavior in line with one’s own life.
In this respect, the fields of education are very broad and resonate. Because while a person is alive, he can change his behavior change, activity and actions as long as he lives in this life, and can transform through education.
Philosophy of education, from a social point of view, is a sub-knowledge that analyzes the social-dimensional educational events of the problems, rules and behavior patterns caused by the common life of people. In terms of state and legal philosophy, it is a philosophical approach that criticizes the main principles and methods of education and training that finds legal-official application.
Philosophy of education is a philosophical discipline that analyzes and interprets educational ideas and practices in its narrow sense and tries to resystematize education in accordance with these interpretations. However, in its general meaning, it is a field of knowledge that examines the problems of history, social and cultural existence of human and humanity, defines human with special environment and universal measures with the findings obtained from it, and finally proposes an understanding of education in accordance with this definition.

In the history of Western thought, the conversion of the human mind to the human, that is, the beginning of thinking about humans, dates back to ancient times. The fact that human beings are treated as a value on their own can be seen in detail in the sophists and especially in the philosophy of Socrates. For example, the intellectual effort in the philosophy of Socrates, in a way, aims at the rediscovery of man. At this time, man was held at the center of the universe and valued. This human orientation, which is clearly seen in the philosophy of Sophists and Socrates, continued in the philosophy schools after them and has survived to the present day.
