What is Faith, What Does It Mean?July 2, 2021
Adopting what has not been empirically realized, not verified by practice (accepting it as true N.). It expresses the meaning of attachment to what can never be known, acceptance that can never be proven or demonstrated. It is defined as “accepting the truth of something without proof” in the Dictionary of Sociological Terms published by the Turkish Language Association. It is indeed a theological phrase and designates a religious trust. In religious philosophy, it is defined as “saying something with heart and tongue while accepting its truth”.
All metaphysical teachings are based on faith, because metaphysics can neither be proved logically nor experimentally verified. Believe is beyond the limits of knowledge and begins where knowledge ends. Knowledge is what has been demonstrated or is demonstrable; Against this, believe is the unproven and never demonstrable. Faith and belief are different concepts. Believe is the confidence that everyone can become self-conscious, get rid of their obsessive and dependent second self and become a virtuous person, supported and confirmed by life experiences.
