In existence. It is the opposite of the term love. It expresses what is involved in the structure of any being.

For example, according to pantheism, god is immanent in nature, and according to theism, god is transcendent to nature. In a sense, it expresses the one who stays in himself and does not pass on to someone else. For example, according to relativism, power is immanent in matter, whereas according to mechanics, it is transitive and passes from one being to another. In metaphysics, in this sense, the term immanent cause is used for transitive cause. The term immanent is actually the product of idealism and idealist understanding. It comes from Aristotle because the end exists in the cause.
