Religion; It is one of the basic human institutions such as science and art. Although philosophy of religion has entered the philosophical terminology late, philosophy’s reflection on religion is as old as philosophy itself. Philosophy of religion in the simplest sense; To think about religion is to examine religion with all its elements (types of belief, teachings, claims and basic concepts such as god, etc.) critically, consistently, systematically and rationally.

Philosophy of religion deals with religion in general. philosophy of religion; deals with the basic principles on which religion is based, the basic concepts related to religion, and the views about God. philosophy of religion; deals with the phenomenon of religion in general, not a particular religion, in a rational way.

Philosophy of religion primarily tries to define and explain religion. Then it tries to explain the basic religious concepts (revelation, God, miracle, worship, faith, prophet) and tries to examine religion and various belief forms that have emerged throughout human history in a consistent, systematic and critical way.

Philosophy of religion deals with the concept of religion in a very broad framework, from the most primitive religious structures (animism, totemism, etc.) to the most advanced religions (Christianity, Islam, etc.).

Philosophy of religion deals with the concept of religion, not any religion.

If we need to define the philosophy of religion more clearly, we can say: “The philosophy of religion; To treat religion as philosophy is to think and discuss religion.” But there is a problem arising from the structure of philosophy itself: each philosopher has his own way of thinking and understanding. As difficult as it is to define philosophy, it is also difficult to define the philosophy of religion, which is a sub-branch of philosophy. However, considering a certain discipline that many philosophers have created on certain subjects, we can say that “philosophy of religion is thinking and talking about the basic claims of religion in a rational, objective, comprehensive and consistent manner.”

A person who makes philosophy of religion should approach his subject “rationally”. In other words, he should base concepts such as “the existence of god” and “immortality of the soul” by trying to use the possibilities of the power of reason.

At the same time, the philosopher must deal with the subject of religion in a comprehensive way. He has to deal with all the historical, scientific and logical data on the subject while he is thinking about the problems of religion. He should even look at what the opposing discourses on the subject are.

It is also essential that there is a consistency between the views put forward by the philosopher. Pretty good criticism is needed to see the inconsistency in opinions.

In particular, in this and similar researches, instead of approaching religion in favor or against it, it should be essential to examine religion as it is and to approach it in an “objective” way.

The sole purpose of doing all this is to express, explain, integrate, integrate and evaluate the philosophical approach. Philosophy of religion is also a special step for serious research on religions. In this way, not everyone can sway their own free views and comments on religion.

In continents, countries and communities, there have been different religions and teachings, the main point of which has been faith since the past. Each belief structure has developed its own unique ideas, habits, acceptances and worship behaviors. Religions, which offer explanations about life and its aftermath, are an important activity of social life.

Religion, like philosophy, is in an effort to understand and make sense of life. While the perspective of philosophy is shaped in a rational way, religion is shaped more in the dimension of belief. The difference between the points where these two activities come into contact with people does not mean that they are not related to each other. Philosophy and religion are fields that have been in a relationship since the past and respond to the needs of people. With the orientation of philosophy to religion, philosophy of religion emerged as a sub-branch of philosophy. Philosophy of religion does not include an attitude of opposing or supporting religions. Philosophy of religion is philosophy’s rational, consistent and comprehensive reflection on religion. philosophy of religion; tries to understand the principles and concepts of religion. His field of study is all divine and non-divine religions.

Philosophy in the history of thought; It emerged as a criticism of religious and moral knowledge and beliefs. On the other hand, philosophy and religion are not two opposite types of knowledge. Both of these types of knowledge try to explain and make sense of the human-universe relationship. Since these two types of knowledge have many similarities in the fields they work, it is quite natural for them to benefit from each other. Philosophy is about the structure of existence, religion is about eternity. Philosophy uses concepts to express the infinite, religion uses symbols.

There are many religious beliefs that existed in the past and still exist today. While some of these beliefs show common features with each other, some are completely original and have created their own belief system. In this context, philosophical understanding
