Philosophy, Greek etymologically ” love” , ” then I’m going” , ” I’m looking for”  coming to terms such as ” phileo”  word and the ” information” , ” wisdom”  which means ” sophia”  is a word formed from the combination of the words and  philosophy of the word, meaning ” wisdom love “  or“ love of knowledge ..

In other words,  philosophy  is to value wisdom and knowledge as words, to care for them and even to see them as the most valuable things; it means searching for information, making efforts to access wisdom, and constantly pursuing information.

Direct Doğrudan What is philosophy? Kısa it is very difficult to give a short answer; for there is no single definition of philosophy. Of course, we can say a lot about what philosophy is and what it is not; but according to some thinkers, the definition of philosophy cannot be made; because philosophy is an upper language (Sonmez, 2006, p.66). Other reasons for the difficulty of defining philosophy can be summarized as follows: The  primary reason is the existence of different disciplines of philosophy.

There are many different disciplines and disciplines, such as metaphysics, moral philosophy and philosophy of knowledge. Therefore, it is difficult to make a unidirectional definition of philosophy that has such a wide network. The secondary reason is the existence of different tendencies, theories and doctrines in every branch of philosophy. There are different philosophical approaches such as realism, idealism, pragmatism and rationalism. For each of these approaches, philosophy has a distinct function and meaning. This makes it difficult to define a certain definition of philosophy. Tertiary and main reason that makes it difficult to define philosophy  is the contrast of the philosophical doctrines developing in the historical process and the complex abstraction of the field of study of these doctrines (Yıldırım, 1991, p.10). The existence of different definitions of each philosophy understanding, theory and approach makes it difficult to define philosophy.

Philosophy is an endeavor that is unfamiliar to people, but many people do not have a detailed idea of what is happening. In order to understand philosophy, it is useful to first look at the meaning of the word we have discussed at the beginning of the text. Philosophy  derives from the combination of the words philosophia ,  which means  love of wisdom (friend of wisdom ) , love (philia) and wisdom (sophia). Philosophers for  philosophers named. The term philosophia was first used by the famous Greek mathematician and philosopher Pythagoras of Pythagoras (580-500 BC). According to this, philosophy means the search for love of wisdom or wisdom. Wisdom (wisdom), on the other hand, is the emergence of complete and complete knowledge on existence, knowledge and value, or the maturity of a human being to such an extent.

In this quest, philosophers (philosophos) are the ones who seek the information that loves wisdom and want to reach it  . It called. The philosopher, who can reason and make philosophical problems about everything that concerns human life, can question everything we know or believe to be true; ask questions about the existence of man, God, religion, the outside world, the source and boundaries of knowledge, science, art and many other subjects. The philosopher does not just ask questions; it seeks answers to these questions with a creative thinking, critical and questioning attitude and perspective. Dealing with philosophy and ideas consistent, based, it can be revealed in a sensible way and can not afford them all kinds at making criticism and judgment, as well as opposition may occur against the ideas that people could soften in the framework of logic ” philosopher” named. Philosophers are people who are able to live with great responsibilities; because they think before feeling.

Sophos,  which means  thinkers sometimes  wise,  sometimes  wisdom. It was called. Phytagoras, philia (love, search) by bringing the word to the beginning of this word to those who call himself sophos philosophos (loves knowledge, loves wisdom) appeared. SHE IS; In this manner, he also tries to explain the relationship of philosophy with knowledge and points out that wisdom is competence through knowledge and personality. It can be said that the person who envisions the facts as they are, approves the judgments according to him and acts in an ethical manner is on the path of wisdom and that philosophy benefits. It is not possible to argue that competence has been attained in absolute terms, and it can also lead to ignorance. The term of philosophy in the sense of loving wisdom is based on an important philosophical understanding. In addition, it is seen that philosophy is related to many concepts (Figure 1.2).

The philosopher’s engagement with knowledge enabled the use of philosophy in the sense of wisdom. It is for this reason that the term philosophos (philosopher) was used both as a feylasûf and as a judge during the translation of Greek works into Arabic. A judge is also used to mean the wise. The wise man is the one who knows the reasons for what he is the judge. According to Er-Râzî, wisdom is related to science in essence. In addition, knowing the truth and putting it into practice is also related to wisdom. In Islamic philosophy, the concept of wisdom is also used as a synonym for philosophy. Under the influence of this understanding, the word wisdom means wisdom in Turkish, as well as the meaning of philosophy.

Looking at the historical course of philosophy, its first traces are seen in Eastern civilizations. In particular, the interpretations that these civilizations bring to human relations on the basis of the practical ideas put forward in the field of morality and politics prove the existence of philosophy here. However, it is accepted that philosophy became systematic in Ancient Greek civilization in the 6th century BC due to the researches and theoretical debates it initiated. The high level of prosperity of the ancient Greek civilization at that time and its relationship with different cultures enabled the development of philosophy here. In the course of time, philosophy spread rapidly to different cultures and geographies and became a questioning activity to understand life and human.

It is seen that the philosophy, which includes all sciences and disciplines at the beginning, is separated from all other disciplines separated from it by subject and method. Topics of Philosophy; in general, being is the things that most fundamentally affect the actions, life, and destiny of the universe as a whole and of human beings. Science gives information, and philosophy explores what knowledge is, what and how we can know it. Philosophy, as a whole, seeks to reach the most general principles.

Philosophy has the quality of asking questions in the basis of the activity of searching for information. Indeed, man is the only being who can ask questions compared to other living things. This is the most distinctive feature that shows that he takes an attitude against them by isolating himself from the material and historical conditions and the chain of events in which he lives. In this way, people; have a unique freedom, the ability to recognize the universe and the power to value. Among these questions, their possible answers do not relate to any information we obtain in daily life, the impressions of the outside world that our senses report, nor the phenomena studied by the sciences and the cause-and-effect relationships to which they are attached. These are concerns about daily life, it is not about eliminating the problems arising from the purpose of creating a concrete work. But maybe they are questions that try to overcome and justify them, assuming that all these and all the information mentioned above have been acquired.

In a general approach, the questions asked in the form of “What is it? Çalışan, which tries to capture the meaning of the concepts we use or encounter in the thinking activity, and the questions that aim to determine the essence of existence, the possibilities and limits of human knowledge, the place of human being in the universe, and the correct principles that must be followed in their behavior. These are called philosophical questions and aim to obtain a collective view of “being”, “knowledge” and “value,, and to obtain a whole knowledge. On the other hand, in philosophy, physics, chemistry, biologyAs in the natural sciences, there is no specific cause or effect relationship between these events. Philosophy is knowledge on previously acquired knowledge; it is a le reflection.. The mind revolves upon the information it has acquired and passes them through a filter of criticism and evaluation. Nothing new is learned here, but the information that is already ready is re-considered within the universe, human and value wholeness. The ultimate aim of philosophy is to justify existence in its entirety.

Philosophy is a thought activity. It is based on the ability to ask questions. With certain kinds of questions, philosophy allows people to think about themselves and the meaning of life. As a result of this thinking activity, the type of information that we call philosophy knowledge emerges. In order to better understand what philosophy means, we need to learn what information is and how many types of information it is. To do so, you can follow the links below.
