What is Probability?July 2, 2021
Probabilism is the general name for teachings that assert the possibility of knowledge. The idea of possibility finds its source in the ancient Greek sophists. Later, the skeptics of the Academy Arkesilaos (318-244 BC) and Karneades (215-130 BC) argued that certainty in science is impossible and should only be satisfied with probability. According to them, it is possible to act with probabilities in both operational and theoretical fields, and nothing can be known or said for sure. This point of view is the reflection of the understanding of Probabilism.
