Pythagorean Mysticism is the manifestation of an understanding originating from the general attitudes and attitudes of the Pythagoreans. That is, the followers of the Pythagorean movement believe that numbers constitute the true nature of things and transmigration. They practice purification rites and follow various rules of life developed for their souls to attain a high rank among the gods. It was well known in the Ancient world that the Pythagoreans avoided eating meat. Until 1842, the term “Pythagorean” was used instead of the term “vegetarian”. An important religious symbol used by the Pythagoreans was the pentagram symbol, believed to be related to Empedocles’ theory of the elements that unite matter.
