What is the connection between doubt and knowledge?June 27, 2021
Doubt is to make knowledge clear and precise.
One can suspect the existence of the objects around him, but he cannot suspect that they appear as beings. Doubt often arises as to whether the object is perceived, thought of, and whether it conforms to the principle of causality in space and time. The task that philosophy has to do because of the problem of knowledge is to clarify the concepts such as space, time, duration, motion, matter, necessity, extension, repulsion and attraction, which form the basis of sciences, and to eliminate the contradictions found between them. Even if the person does not know the “object in the cat”, he understands through the senses that there are some beings outside himself.
The task of philosophy is to study these concepts, which come from experience and have been purified by thought based on the principles of reason. Philosophy does not have a single determined subject, it makes use of the data of observation and experimental sciences, reworks and develops the concepts taken from them. The thought that enables the processing of these concepts has three basic functions:
1) Making the concepts clearer and easier to understand constitutes the field of this logic.
2. To organize the obtained concepts according to the special principles of thought, freeing them from contradiction. This also concerns metaphysics.
3) To present direct and clear concepts and to transform them into judgments in consciousness. These judgments, which are the subject of aesthetics, are of two types, such as affirmation and denial. Confirmation allows to approach the object, denial allows to move away from it.
