What is the Nature of Philosophy for Moritz Schlick?June 27, 2021
Logical positivists, like Wittgenstein, think that the business of philosophy is not to inform the transcendent. Again, in parallel with Wittgenstein, they think that philosophy has the task of clarifying statements.
However, his views on the content of philosophy are more affirmative than Wittgenstein’s. Philosophy talks about the language of science and tries to reveal the logic of science. The general study subjects of logical positivists are thus related to science and philosophy of science. Theory, conjecture, evidence, verification, verification, etc. The themes are clarified in their interrelationship with the work of logical positivists. Today, if philosophy of science is mentioned as a sub-branch as an important part of philosophical studies, it cannot be denied that the work of logical positivists has contributed greatly to this.
