Alexis-Charles-Henri Clérel de Tocqueville (pronounced alexandra pouch), (29 July 1805 – 16 April 1859) is a French political thinker and historian.
On Democracy in America in Turkey (1835, 1840) and is known as the Old Regime and the Revolution titled works. In both of his works, he analyzed the developing living standards and social conditions, and the relations of Western societies with the market and the state.
Democracy in America was written after Tocqueville’s travels to the United States and is regarded as one of the early books written in sociology and political science.
Tocqueville was also an active figure in French politics, first during the July Monarchy (1830–1848) and then during the Second Republic (1849–1851) following the 1848 revolutions. III. Following Napoleon’s coup, he withdrew from political life and began working on the Old Regime and Revolution.
The importance of the French Revolution, XIV. He claims that he continued the process of modernizing and centralizing the French state, which began in the period of Louis. The failure of the revolution is due to the inexperience of the proxies devoted to abstract Enlightenment ideals. Tocqueville was a classical liberal defending the parliamentary government, but also doubted the excesses of democracy.
