He is an English mathematician and philosopher.
He is one of the important names in the philosophical movement known as logical positivism and in the group of philosophers called the Vienna Circle.
Born in Ramsgate, Kent, United Kingdom, died in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. He worked on mathematics between 1880-1910. Between 1910-24 he worked on physics, philosophy of science, educational practice and theory. Between 1924-47 he became a professor of philosophy at Harvard University in a branch he had never thought of before, writing about metaphysics. He co-authored the Principia Mathematica with Bertrand Russell. He understood God differently than the Abrahamic religions.
