Burrhus Frederic Skinner is a psychologist who has lived in recent times and one of the chief architects of psychology’s recent breakthrough.
The psychology magazine “Psychology Today” described Skinner as a psychologist who made the most important contributions to psychology. (1967, September Edition)
Skinner became one of America’s most important psychologists after the 1950s. Skinner, who sees the behavioral psychology school as the most appropriate school for him, developed an original program for behavioral control of societies; designed an automatic cot for babies’ care and put a lot of effort into the large-scale use of behavior modification techniques.
Skinner fell ill in 1989 and was diagnosed with leukemia by doctors. Even after learning this, Skinner, who continued his scientific studies without interruption, continued to write hours before he died and “Could Psychology Be a Science of Mind?” He died in 1990 before he could complete his article.
