Judith Jarvis Thomson is an American philosopher born in 1929.
She is especially known for her thesis called “A Defense of Abortion” and the various arguments she put forward in this thesis.
She was educated at Hunter College High School in New York, and spent most of her career teaching at MIT. Thomson’s wife, James Thomson, who is especially known for his thought experiments, was a philosophy professor at MIT for many years.
Thomson’s main areas of study have been metaphysics and philosophy. She has made great contributions to moral philosophy, especially she.
