Who is Kallimachus?

He was an Alexandrian grammarian and poet. He managed the library of the Alexandria Museum. He is one of the most famous poets of the Alexandrian School in Greek literature. He also wrote works in the fields of grammar and history of literature. The ideas of his poems dominate, and they are rich in mythological terms. Poetry books are “Aitia”, “Coma and Berenikes”, “Hekata”, “Heroides”. The “Pinakes” catalog of 120 volumes is considered the first history of scientific literature.

He is a Greek poet. Despite being a hardworking person, today only Zeus, Apollo, Artemis etc. His songs (hymns) and epigrams remained. BC The poet, born around 310, is also a librarian who went to Alexandria, where he spent many years of his life, and cataloged the works in the Alexandria Library. Born in Cyrene, lived in Alexandria.
