Marsilio Ficino. 1433-1499. Italian Neoplatonic thinker. He is a thinker who added the Renaissance perspective to Plato’s philosophy.

Putting forward a series of proofs on the immortality of the soul, Ficino argued that man is at the center of the universe and interpreted human life as an ascent of the soul towards God. ‘Know thyself, O divine lineage in human guise!’ he said.
