At the center of Nurettin Topçu’s philosophy are his views on morality. He criticizes conflicting morals. The basis of his moral philosophy is the concept of “movement”. Movement is the inner state of thought. Human existence is about thinking and action. Movement does not mean biological displacement. It is about man’s ability to change himself and other beings. Man, who has the ability to act by thinking, has been given a purpose by a superior being. The purpose of man is to reach the infinite. The infinite is God. A person with free will acts knowingly and willingly; The fact that he acts shows that he has gained the quality of humanity, and his desire to continue acting is due to his intention to reach the infinite.
According to Nurettin Topçu, human nature; consists of spirit, will and faith. A person should also carry a sense of passion so as not to destroy this nature. Because such a passion leads people to the eternal. This is man’s quest for eternity. Nurettin Topçu states that human beings act in a state of search. Having movement, that is, turning towards the eternal with what is in oneself, is a constant thinking and living of God.
Nurettin Topçu sees this conscious act of man as an idealist act and calls it the “ethic of rebellion” in terms of his moral views. the morality of rebellion; It is the use of one’s mind with free will by considering faith, will and responsibility.
According to him, if the individual uses his mind with his free will, enlightenment occurs in the society and it purifies the society from the disruptive effects. If individuals do not act for the peace and security of the society, there is a weakness in the spirit, faith and will, and they are of the opinion that God is forgotten there. The morality of rebellion represents rebellion against situations that hinder the execution of Allah’s orders. Not to rebel is to be impersonal. He strongly criticizes being submissive in the face of these evils. In this respect, education is important. Because, according to him, the most important factor in the formation of a free mentality is education. School should be the place where thinking people are brought up and taught to act of their own free will.
The prominent books of Nurettin Topçu, who has many scientific publications, are: “Tomorrow Turkey”, “Philosophy”, “Bergson”, “Existence Movement Philosophy”, “Existence”, “Logic”, “Mevlana and Sufism”, “Culture and Sufism”. Civilization” and “Countryman”.
