Peter Ludwig Berger was an American sociologist and theologian who lived from March 17, 1929 to June 27, 2017.
Considered one of the most influential texts in known sociology, Thomas Luckmann’s best-known book is The Social Structure of Reality: A Covenant in the Sociology of Knowledge (New York, 1966).
The book played a central role in the development of social structuralism. This work was named the fifth most influential book written in the field of sociology in the 20th century by the International Sociological Association in 1998. Peter Ludwig Berger died on June 27, 2017 at the age of 87.
