(May 1, 1910 – June 9, 1987) was an American philosopher and the founder of Marxist-Humanism. He was the secretary of Leon Trotsky for a while. He later broke away from it and founded a new organization called “News and Letters Committees” and chaired this organization until his death.
Dunayevskaya’s Jewish family immigrated to the United States when she was younger, so Dunayevskaya joined the revolutionary movement at an early age. He took part in the youth branch of the American Communist Party for a while. Later, the independent Trotskyists formed a group together in Boston. This group advocated birth control and abortion.
BASE. Without getting permission from the Trotskyists Organization, he went to Mexico in 1937 to work as a Russian secretary to the exiled Leon Trotsky. Upon the deaths of his father and brother in 1938, he left Trotsky and returned to Chicago.
