Samuel Taylor Coleridge (21 October 1772 – 25 July 1834) was an English poet, critic and philosopher.
Along with his friend William Wordsworth, he was cited as one of the founders of the Romanticism movement in England. Kubla Khan was his most important work, but Biographia Literia is cited as his most respected. It is known that Coleridge wrote his works mostly under the influence of his hallucinations after taking drugs (see: Kubla Khan). In Kubla Khan, he described the hallucinations he saw after taking drugs like Kublai Khan’s palace.
