Who is Teo Grunberg?June 26, 2021
Teo Grünberg is a Turkish philosopher and writer.
He was born in 1927 in Istanbul. He is one of the very few Ashkenazi Jews.
He received his doctorate degree in philosophy from Istanbul University in 1964, and started to work in the Department of Humanities at METU in 1966; In 1967, he was a member of the High School Modern Logic Reform Commission of the Ministry of National Education, Department of Education and Discipline. He served as a lecturer of in-service modern logic summer courses for high school philosophy teachers in 1967-1976, and became a professor in 1979. Teo Grünberg, who was the head of METU Sociology Department in 1982-1983, and METU Philosophy Department in 1983-1994 and retired in 1994, was awarded the Turkish Academy of Sciences Service Award in 1998. He still continues his studies at METU Philosophy Department. Teo Grünberg, who has more than thirty articles and papers, some of which have been published in international journals, and fifteen books, is a member of the Turkish Philosophical Society, the Turkish Philosophy Association, and the European Society for Analytic Philosophy.
